Amanda Brugel

Brugel was the sole Canadian actor in Season 1, was only occasionally seen. In Season 2, Brugel joined the regular cast and remains a part of it today. When discussing her role as well as any parallels to her personal life outside of the camera, Brugel was able to discuss her own experiences of discrimination based on race to the "Marthas" saing, for instance, "I use it, not just in her role within the home as Martha, but also in her role as a Martha however, I also very much lean on race, and like I said the past, which includes experiences where I actually feel like I've been treated as a slave for a variety of reasons, not just due to my colour. I've never experienced physical abuse in actual life due to my race. However, I've definitely been verbally abused. On the show I'll resort to any form of racial epithets, slurs, or insults that make me believe that someone's hit me. This is almost like hitting her in each scene. Amanda Amanda Amanda
