Lita Rossana Ford is an American writer, performer and guitarist who hails from the British Isles. She played the guitar of the all-girl group The Runaways in the 1970s. Their punk rock sound and rebellious songs made them famous within the rock world. The group did not make it in The United States, but gained huge popularity abroad. Ford began a metal solo career after the band broke up in 1979. She started taking voice classes before releasing her first album 'Dancin' at the Edge'. Ford was unable to achieve any success with either album so she walked away from the rock scene for about 10 years. The album she dominated, "Lita" was released in 1988 and saw her come back with an explosion. Kiss Me Deadly and Close My Eyes Forever, both of which became huge hit and are just two of the examples. She stayed out of the music industry for a couple of years following her brief commercial success. Then she returned after the release of her album 'Black' in 1995, followed by 'Wicked wonderland' 15 years later. Her most recent album 'Time Capsule' was released in the year 2016. The singer was honored with The Certified Guitar Legend Award from the Guitar Player Magazine.
