Aspen Ladd started her combat sports training at the age of fourteen. She trained in boxing kickboxing BJJ and wrestling before completing her first amateur appearance at 18 at WCFC in a fight against Jaimee Nievera. Ladd gained confidence after the win and fought 3 fights at Ultimate Reno Combat. Her adversaries were defeated all in the 1st round. After that, she returned to WCFC and defeated Leslie Rodriguez by unanimous decision. Aspen first defeated Silvia Babyghian prior to going to fight Maddy Simmons at WCFC 9 in which she took on Cynthia Calvillo. Cynthia beat Aspen to beat her a unanimous vote, leaving a black mark on Ladd's record as an amateur. Ladd bounced back from the defeat and beat Roma Pawelek at Tuff-N-Uff to improve her record to 8-1. Aspen became a professional in the year 2015. She signed up with Invicta FC and made her debut. The InvictaFC11 fight was her very first professional fight. Aspen dominated Ana Carolina Vidal, securing the 1st-round TKO. Invicta 16 saw her move up to Bantamweight after winning her battle with Amanda Cooper by armbar in the second round. Aspen utilized her formidable wrestling skills to take down McGill and ended her via the third round TKO(elbows or punches). Aspen then fought Jessica Hoy (138.1lb at Invicta FC) at an "catchweight"(138.1lb) as Ladd was unable to put on weight. Aspen, however, defeated Hoy by using TKO. She took on Linalansberg in UFC Fight Night 118. She outclassed Lina through her ground and pound tactics which resulted in a TKO 2nd round win. In her second fight, she defeated Tonya Evinger even more impressively. Ladd was able to defeat Evinger in the very first round and earned a reward for the performance of the night. Ladd fought in her debut big fight in the UFC Fight Night dos Anjos against. Lee rematch against Sijara Ebanks. Ladd's victory was a unanimous decision as well as the Fight of the Night award was awarded to each fighter. Ladd's first loss came in her next fight against Germaine de Randamie in Ladd's first UFC main event fight. Randamie stopped Ladd within 16 seconds, breaking her winning streak.
